FAQs

If you are experiencing problems during login or your shopping cart is not working properly, most likely your browser is not set to accept cookies. To shop at maitake.com, customers' browsers need to accept "cookies" at some level. To help you better understand what cookies are, how they work, and how you can adjust your cookie settings, please refer to the brief overview below, which answers the most common questions related to cookies.

What are cookies?

A "cookie" is a very small piece of information that a web server can store temporarily with your web browser. A cookie is essentially your identification card, and cannot be executed as code or deliver viruses. Remember, it is uniquely yours and can only be read by the server that gave it to you.

How are cookies useful at Mushroom Wisdom, Inc.?

Cookies are useful because they allow your browser to remember specific information that the web server can later retrieve, such as login information or items in your shopping cart.

How can I adjust my cookie settings?

You can specify how cookies should be handled by adjusting the settings within your browser. Each browser has a different process for adjusting cookie settings, and below are quick references for how to adjust your cookie settings in both Internet Explorer and Netscape:

Internet Explorer 6.0:

  1. In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  2. Click the Security tab.
  3. Click the Trusted sites. (Please make sure that the Security level for this zone is set to low.)
  4. Click the Sites.
  5. Click to remove the check from the Require server verification box.
  6. In the Add this Web site to the zone box, type "www.maitake.com".
  7. Click the Add button.
  8. In the Add this Web site to the zone box, type "maitake.ixwebhosting.com".
  9. Click the Add button.

Netscape 7.1:

  1. Open the Edit menu and choose Preferences.
  2. Under the Privacy & Security category, click Cookies. (If no subcategories are visible, double-click Privacy & Security to expand the list.)
  3. Set your cookies preferences.

Note: If you have additional questions about cookie settings, use a different version of Internet Explorer or Netscape, or use a different browser, we suggest going to the contents area within the Help section of your browser, and typing in "cookies." This search will provide you detailed information regarding cookie settings for your browser.
